Warwick, Rhode Island. January 26, 2012 –SyQwest Inc., a leading supplier of commercial and military sonar solutions, which specializes in high-resolution sonar and acoustic systems for precision seafloor exploration, announced today that the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has awarded it a contract to produce a maximum quantity of 1142 DT-276A submarine hydrophones.
Under the contract, SyQwest Inc will manufacture and test DT-276A hydrophone assemblies which are used on the AN/BQR-7 submarine sonar system. The AN/BQR-7 is a passive conformal flank array sonar system. The Defense Logistics Agency in Richmond, Virginia is the contracting agency.
The Defense Logistics Agency is the Department of Defense's largest logistics combat support agency, providing worldwide logistics support in both peacetime and wartime to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries.
