SyQwest Inc. Announces $6.8 Million U.S. Navy Contract

Cranston, Rhode Island. February 21, 2022 –SyQwest Inc., a leading supplier of tactical solutions for US Navy surface ship and submarine sonar systems and components, announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded it a five-year ID/IQ contract with a maximum value at completion of $6.8M.

Under the contract, SyQwest Inc will repair,restore and recertify TR-317 transducers used on the US Navy fleet of attack class submarines. The TR-317 tonpilz transducer is the building block for the spherical bow array sonar for the 688-I class submarines. This sonar array functions as the main high power active and passive sonar and search tool for these submarines.

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, R.I., is the contracting agency. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare.
