Warwick, Rhode Island. July 31, 2014 – SyQwest Inc., a leading supplier of commercial and military sonar solutions, which specializes in high-resolution sonar and acoustic systems for precision seafloor exploration announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded it a five year ID/IQ contract with a maximum value at completion of $5.0M.
Under the contract, SyQwest Inc will manufacture DT-513 hydrophones which are used on the US Navy fleet of submarines and surface ships. The DT-513 hydrophone is a wide band, omni-directional device with an integrated preamplifier used for making reference sound level measurements.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, R.I., is the contracting agency. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare.
