SyQwest Announces $3 Million U.S. Navy Contract For TR-343

Warwick, Rhode Island. October 27, 2014 – SyQwest Inc., a leading supplier of commercial and military sonar solutions, which specializes in high-resolution sonar and acoustic systems for precision seafloor exploration announced today that the U.S. Navy has awarded it a five year ID/IQ contract with a maximum value at completion of $3.0M.

Under the contract, SyQwest Inc will manufacture and test transformer assemblies for the TR-343 transducer which is used on a broad array of US Navy surface ships. The TR-343 transducer is part of the AN/SQS-53 Hull Mounted Sonar  Array Assembly which is a component of AN/SQQ-89(V) acoustic sonar weapons (ASW) system. The AN/SQQ-89(V) is a fully integrated Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) combat system with the capability to search, detect, classify, localize, and attack submarine targets

The Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Indiana is the contracting agency. The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane provides technical engineering solutions and total life cycle leadership for many of the systems that protect and enable the Warfighter. They provide acquisition engineering, in-service engineering and technical support for sensors, electronics, electronic warfare, and special warfare.”
