HydroBox Diplexer
Question: I notice that you sell your dual frequency Hydrobox with a diplexer transducer. What is a diplexer?
Answer: The diplexer style transducer has separate ceramic elements for each frequency (example: 33khz element and 210khz element). There is a special circuit built into the transducer (called a diplexer), which allows it to work at either frequency on the same set of wires. Basically what it does is sense a 33khz ping and sends it to the 33khz element and when it senses a 210khz ping it sends it to the 210khz element. What we do is to send it alternating pings of each frequency. Because you are sending multiple pings every second you can still obtain good data from both elements virtually at the same time
