HydroBox Bench Test

Question: I am trying to test my Hydrobox in my office before I go out on a boat. I put the transducer in a bucket of water but am not getting any depth readings. What can I do?

Answer: You will most likely not get a valid depth by pinging into a bucket of water. This is because there is simply too much sound energy that bounces off the walls of the bucket and gives you false readings. We recommend you perform a bench test with the transducer transmitting in air.
